How to correct sticky patches from Protected Leather
Sticky patches on leather are normally in high wear areas. The surface, transparent, protective coating is worn away
revealing the "sticky" colour coating underneath. The area requires a very gentle clean and the top finish re-applying.
| Step One | Dab on foam from Leather Soft Cleaner and dab gently without rubbing |
| Step Two | Dry with kitchen towel |
| Step Three | Dab on foam from Leather Soft Cleaner and dab gently without rubbing |
| Step Four | Dry with kitchen towel and then a hair drier from 12 inches away |
| Step Five | If problem persists, ask for help |
| Step Six | You may need to use tweezers to remove foreign fibres If problem persists, ask for help |
| Step Seven | Spray on Fix 181 (Gloss or matt) from 12 inches, overlapping onto good leather |
| Step Eight | Allow to dry or dry with a hair drier from 12 inches |
The Fix 181 re-applies the top, protective layer and seals in the sticky colouring coat. The stickiness will
vanish and if the sticky patch has changed colour slightly, the original colour should be restored.
Fix 181 is the same chemical type originally used in the leather manufacture.
